Choosing A Good Camera Lens

Creativity has always been something that professionals or experts only could take on. There was no place for amateurs or novices in these fields like art and photography. All this has changed with time, and it is all thanks to the advancement of technology and its application in the field of such creative works. Computer and graphic designing programs now permit novices or people with not very talented artistic sense to draw quite animated pictures. Similarly, in the field of photography gone are the days when only professional photographers with their SLR camera can capture the scenes. Amateurs equipped with state of the art digital ones can do a better job than a professional photographer at times. It is therefore such a type that one would go for with a passion for photography. While doing so it should not be just the features that the digital one offers but more importantly what sort of camera lens is fitted on the item. The normal choice is to get one with zoom lens but that need not be the case always.

Lens fitted on cameras can be grouped under two main categories. One being the lenses which has a fixed focal length and the other which has a zoom focal length. The zoom lens is most often the choice for an amateur or novice would argue that these lenses would help in capturing objects and subjects that are standing at different distances.

A professional would however know that fixed focal length lenses are smaller, faster and sharper image capturing capable. That the lenses cause lesser distortion as well comes cheaper than the zoom also makes sense to a professional.

A novice would not be very much driven by the term of lenses being fast. In the photographers’ parlance this actually means that the aperture of such a lens is larger. A larger aperture lens takes in more light and therefore the rate at which the lenses capture a shot is faster. Scene where fast motion needs to be captured would be better using fixed focal length lenses.

There is also the aspect where photography on many occasion have to be carried out in low light intensity environment. Lenses with larger apertures would be the only ones that could be used to take photos in such an environment.

Lenses with fixed focal length are less susceptible to damage due incident as their construction is simple and do not have such fragile components. Also the factor of sharper image capturing capability of such lenses makes the photographs taken with such lenses more acceptable in stock agency related works.

Given these basic points it can be easily seen that the common logic of camera lens with a zoom feature is not the only and always correct decision when selecting one.

There are so many choices out there when it come to selecting a great camera lens. Best Camera Lens website provides information and reviews of the top 10 Best Camera Lenses available today.

Best Choice Available – Purple Digital Camera Review

The only real complaint I have, is the mic for the video is behind the camera, sort of right where your finger would go when you hold it. So you’re not going to get great audio at the thing you’re aiming the camera at, since the mic is facing you.

The screen would work, show menus but the camera itself wouldn’t show anything on the screen with the lens was open. It was very odd, we waited a few minutes and tried again and it worked fine.

Well, I’ve seen the results and they are fabulous! She was a little leery of taking that first underwater shot but has taken some fantastic pictures. I find it responsive and quick to take pictures that I want, the panoramic utility is awesome, and it comes with a nicely made picture management transfer utility. Online support from Olympus is easy to navigate.

What is the real difference between; “Automatically optimizes the camera’s settings based on the shooting situation” and “The camera is set automatically based on the scene.” There are 11 scene modes and 21 sub-scene modes. We haven’t gone yet, but have used it around the house. It is good so far. Good thing I also brought a higher quality Olympus digital camera with me which produced 100% crystal clear pictures. Buy this and use this for when you are IN the pool where this can get wet, but don’t use it as a day to day camera…..you’ll get better picture quality elsewhere. You only have to be a few inches away for it to focus. There are many different options with this camera. I love most things about this camera, except half the time it doesn’t focus the picture. Some videos I have taken you can see the camera randomly changing focus. So far I have used this camera to shoot pictures at monster truck rallies, a welcome home ceremony when a dear friend came back from Afghanistan ( got a great video of his family running to hug him), Washington, DC when we visited the museums, and the pool. I am very happy with my camera. Easy to carry, water proof to swimming depth, shock proof from kids height. A High quality camera that is easy to use, easy to carry around kids to get the once in a childhood shots I have only had the Tough 6020 for a few days.

Hey, if you have it on macro, of course the picture will be blurry, if you’re taking a picture of the sunset…learn how the camera works before giving it a horrible review. The pictures come out great, as long as you have all the right settings.

The picture quality is terrible. I spent days trying all possible combinations of quality/speed/lighting settings, but the colors always come out unforgivably washed. Not a single problem with this one, beautiful pictures! I was considering purchasing this camera for personal use but was turned off by the reviews.

However, I needed a waterproof camera for work, and this ended up being the only one available immediately in town. I am glad it was.

Amazing product as I dropped it in pool and forgot about it, found it after 30 minutes and this camera was working as normal as it was before! SHOE STORAGE BENCH.

Not Quite As Good As I Hoped For – Vivitar Digital Camera Review

I got some really great pictures of sea turtles. Battery lasted long giving us a full day sometimes two days of battery like.

I was given this camera as a birthday present just before my vacation to Thailand. To all the people saying how good the picture quality is, you must be working for Olympus! I was very happy with my old camera, so decided to replace it with the current mode. The Olympus 6020 seemed to fit the bill and came with a few new features. Since I got the Stylus Tough 6020, I have already crashed while tree skiing, launching it into the snow. It survived the impact with a tree and landing in the slushy wet snow and kept recording the whole time. The down load of photos and movies was difficult and would not mate with the PC documents files. The battery time was OK and the photos were good.

The lens never fogged up and the pictures were very good; clarity, color and lighting. The camera never got submersed in water completely because I never tripped and fell in the river and I did not take any underwater pictures. Great price and I like the color choice I made. Highly recommend this camera for the adventurous.

I bought this camera just for Kayaking. It takes quality photos and is very simple to use. Operation is aggravating. My wife and I saw this camera in Best Buy and she really liked it.

I followed the guide given with the camera to help maintain and check for the waterproof feature and water got behind the screen and inside the lens.

Bottom line, either purchase the 8010 or look for another series. It’s a great waterproof camera. In short, it’s a great little camera. I think you’ll be the most satisfied with it if you know some basic concepts of photography (such as providing adequate and appropriate lighting), but this is a solid little camera. This camera definitely has great optical quality. It’s a very thin camera and the user interface is very easy to use and smart.

My camera only last for 1 month, I used it for one week in the beach and it took great pictures underwater, then I used it in the pool (1 meter or less deep) and water got in (the lock was secure) I don’t recommend this camera to anyone! I did read the reviews before purchasing this and this camera was on another site rated highly for waterproof digital cameras so at only $170 I thought I would give it a shot since it was relatively low priced. The manual for this camera is online I believe. Haven’t tried the underwater feature but hopefully it will work out, it seemed to get good reviews from other users.

I also use it in dark areas (think dusk to twilight) to focus on objects 20 feet away. Mexican Blankets.

Great Choice For Anyone – Disposable Digital Camera Review

Nice features. Best buy has it on sale for 269. I love most things about this camera, except half the time it doesn’t focus the picture. Some videos I have taken you can see the camera randomly changing focus.

I tried referring to the owner’s manual, and well there wasn’t one. I had high hopes for the camera with four small children I need a tough camera but was disappointed in the product and had to return it. This camera has got to be the most unintuitive point and shoot I’ve ever seen or used. I don’t even care about the image quality, even if it were outstanding, the interface and poor design would steer me away.

At least Amazon let me return it! Bought a 6020 while on a cruise ship “it was the best they had”. In short, it’s a great little camera. I think you’ll be the most satisfied with it if you know some basic concepts of photography (such as providing adequate and appropriate lighting), but this is a solid little camera. Many families were asking about it and after my friends saw what it did they went out and purchased them for themselves as well. Of course I am the only one with a bright pink camera. Also the pictures always seemed to turn out blurry; I’d have to take several pictures of the same frame to get a good one. I tried every setting and always ended up with the same result.

The first was a 7mp that unfortunately went missing. I purchased these cameras to carry with me pretty much full time when I’m out and about so I’ll not miss a “photo of opportunity.” It uses a standard SD card. The old version used a smaller version which meant I couldn’t swap them out with other cameras (yes, we own several different digital cameras.) The camera is pretty great.

I went to Greece over the summer, and I had a very hard time trying to figure out what setting to use. During the night time, if I had a dark picture, you would see “bubbles” all around and it would totally ruin your picture. I don’t know if this is an electrical, software, physical or factory defect problem, but I’ve read a few reviews of Olympus underwater and tough models having a similar problem, so I’m hoping I can at least get the camera fixed or repaired by Olympus, but nothing can replace the photos I can’t take now. These pictures, if taken under fair conditions (sufficient light, clear water), the quality is very good. Maybe that is because prior to this, for the last 6 months, I have only had my Blackberry (2.0 megapixels) camera. The quality is really good but does take a considerable amount of time to get used to the menu settings (I still don’t think I am). This camera definitely has great optical quality. It’s a very thin camera and the user interface is very easy to use and smart. The menu options are very easy. It is very easy to switch the flash on and off, which the option I toggle back and forth the most.

I’m sure if you take proper care of the camera it will last and not leak. Small Recliner Chairs For Sale.

Better Than Expected – Crayola Digital Camera Review

I read all of the reviews and no one mentioned the horrible sound quality. It sounds like the camera was under water.

So far we love that camera. Better build quality, better picture quality, and better user interface.

The general close-up mode will use a flash, and I’ve found it works fine to leave it on when taking regular pictures as well. The super close-up does not allow you to use a flash, but it can take closer pictures. The pictures I have taken both indoors and outdoors are clear not grainy and the HD video is awesome. This camera even has sound when previewing your vids from camera, which I love since my Kodak didn’t. It’s the firmware in the camera and it is already there. More than you can shake a tripod at. It starts with “plug the camera into a computer and load the software” – what software” There is none! I guess it’s just a sacrifice for a more durable screen. This is what I wanted for backpacking, hunting and fishing when you can’t always count on the weather here in MT. Then he showed us that he could step on it, and drop it from a certain height, and it would remain in good condition. The thing that really got me interested was that it was waterproof. It is waterproof up to 16 feet and shockproof as well. An awesome buy!

My surprise was that, when taking outdoor pictures, the image quality is excellent. The wide angle allows you to take great scenic photos.

I’ll be posting some pictures that I took with this camera, so that you can see the quality yourself. Back in 2006 I started carrying one of the original Olympus Tough 7 MP cameras with me in Iraq. The camera takes mediocre pictures. The day date has to be set every time the battery is changed. This camera is very easy to use with an easy set-up. I have not tried it under water yet but with this camera I’m not scared to let my little children run around taking picture with a fear of them dropping and breaking my camera.

I’ll find out what he thinks once I ship it off to him. Great service, fast shipping, and the camera came with everything it needed!

I ended up returning it and buying a Nikon s8100 for about the same price. OTTOMAN BED.

Great, The Absolute Best – Purple Digital Camera Critique

But if you are an adventurer who likes to have his/her camera with you everywhere – and I mean EVERYWHERE – and you can “live” with fairly high-res photos taken with a point and shoot, well, this is the camera for you.

It does have a slow return so I need to find that option of turning off the preview to make the return quicker. The camera is great. However, the first time I took it in the water (a swimming pool), it leaked and died. Being past the 1-year warrantee, I could do nothing but replace it.

He more than likely put the card in before he hooked the camera up to his computer. By the way, make sure you hook the camera up to your computer BEFORE you put your memory card in. The pictures I have taken both indoors and outdoors are clear not grainy and the HD video is awesome. This camera even has sound when previewing your vids from camera, which I love since my Kodak didn’t. The picture quality is terrible. I spent days trying all possible combinations of quality/speed/lighting settings, but the colors always come out unforgivably washed. Well, I’ve seen the results and they are fabulous! She was a little leery of taking that first underwater shot but has taken some fantastic pictures. It took forever to turn on and to switch between modes. I missed a lot of shots because of that. I love this camera, and its predecessor the Olympus 770 SW (which worked fine, but I lost it). However, after less than 3 weeks of use, it will turn on but then nothing else happens, and the power button has to be pressed twice to turn it off, because the first time the lens cover closes then opens again. This model has a couple of serious problems that irritates us. First, when we push on button, the lens door open immediately but the camera is not available to take.

It is a little heavier than I expected and a little bigger (buying a case for it was a little tricky). Overall it is a nice looking camera that is easy to use.

It’s just so much worse than even my cell phone’s camera that I’m packing it off for a return. I’m very disappointed, since as I said the overall build quality seems quite good. A default setting should allow fully auto picture taking with no restrictions on a simple thing like zooming, regardless of the mode you are in. I also HATED where they put the lens.

We thought it was just a glitch and moved on.

Those who rated 5 stars pointed to the 1 star reviewers and said they were not paying attention to the actual features, or ‘learning’ how to use it properly. MICROWAVE STANDS.

Good Until It Broke – Nikon Coolpix S8000 Digital Camera Critique

This camera takes decent pictures during the day when there is plenty of light available. I would say the picture quality is decent, but isn’t the best. Shop around and you can get great prices! Took this camera on a trip to the Caribbean and was very happy with product until last day of trip when it stopped working on us after being in only 3 feet of water-seriously this is supposed to.

My family and I went on a dolphin excursion and the camera took some amazing pictures and videos (above and below water). Overall: GREAT, GREAT, GREAT BUY! I am currently shopping to replace that camera for upcoming cruise and would not take a chance on the same brand. This little camera was bought as a replacement to our old waterproof camera that we left at the top of a mountain (Olympus Stylus 850 SW). It tends to drain quickly unless you compromise quality. I was delighted at the picture quality.

I find it responsive and quick to take pictures that I want, the panoramic utility is awesome, and it comes with a nicely made picture management transfer utility. Online support from Olympus is easy to navigate.

It is easy to carry around everywhere and comes in great colors. I would recommend this camera to everyone!

It was extremely frustrating. The settings were also not intuitive.

I sent in my camera twice, over six months. It would not turn on, and the pictures would not upload to the computer. One thing I don’t like, functionality-wise, is that when you take a picture and the review of the image pops up, you can’t delete it at that same time. You have to go into playback mode then delete the picture, then go back into shooting mode.

It’s likely the two “hates” that I listed were indications of a defective camera. The SEVEN items that I listed above that are reasons enough that I would not recommend the camera to anyone. The price was excellent, and the camera is made for its purpose. If I want more fancy stuff I can use my other Cannon Rebel XS. I recently bought the Panasonic Lumix Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 14.1 MP Waterproof Digital Camera for traveling, and will get my daughter the same. It is solid, well made and works great. Dark photos with a flash do not look all that spectacular but still have great detail, but what do you expect, eh” My one qualm is the USB cable.

A major reason, the major reason I bought it instead of another standard point and shoot was for the ruggedized features: shock and water proof to 16 feet. SELL GUITARS.

Excellent For A Good Price – Polaroid Digital Camera Review

This tells me that the camera will most likely fail within a couple of years due to water leaking into the seals already. Another point I do not like about this camera is that, every time I turn it on, it asks me to connect it to a pc before I start doing anything. I find it responsive and quick to take pictures that I want, the panoramic utility is awesome, and it comes with a nicely made picture management transfer utility. Online support from Olympus is easy to navigate.

I’ve owned about 5 point and shoot cameras and 2 SLRs. I think the majority of the bad reviews is caused by the average users basic knowledge of a camera, most people have no idea what half the settings are, or what they mean, so the bad picture quality, is their own fault. I’ll be posting some pictures that I took with this camera, so that you can see the quality yourself. Back in 2006 I started carrying one of the original Olympus Tough 7 MP cameras with me in Iraq. But if you are an adventurer who likes to have his/her camera with you everywhere – and I mean EVERYWHERE – and you can “live” with fairly high-res photos taken with a point and shoot, well, this is the camera for you. I would recommend it to anyone. I own an Olympus Stylus 720sw that has been awesome.

Lastly, this camera is SLOW. It takes a surprising amount of time just to click through the settings (for instance, to click down to the flash setting and then click across to change the flash took about 5 seconds EVERY time). So, take your habits with normal photography and double them if you plan on taking this camera below the surface: stay still, don’t zoom in low light, and use the flash sparingly, especially in coastal/cloudy water. Learned as we went and read the directions. After the third snorkeling session (camera no deeper than arm’s length below the surface) and probably no more than 90 minutes in the water, the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 camera died. Screen just flashes on and off.

It is very easy and has worked every time for me. There is a beauty mode, several underwater mode, pets mode, etc. We used it on our trip to Puerto Rico and it was great. The underwater shots and video were great.

I did take about 200 shots that were of a comparable quality to the 720, I have not really checked out closely from the memory card. The 1st time I took it in snorkeling at surface level, I got 1 picture and the controls/screen went haywire.

If you’re looking for a camera to occasionally use in a wet environment, but otherwise you want to pull it out of your pocket and get a good photo quickly, this isn’t it. I used this camera for almost a month trying to learn how to use it well, but never succeeded, I believe due to the camera itself. This camera takes great pictures, great video, is the perfect size, easy to use, and quite possibly the best camera I have ever owned. I have had it wet and underwater many times, including a 20 minute test in the sink as soon as I got it to make sure it is 100% waterproof, and again the camera exceeded my expectations.

Consider that it is a point and shoot. I don’t think that you can get much better for under $300.

The salesman took the camera and banged it against a metal post, showing that it would not dent or scratch, or even better, break. Landscaping Trailers.
