Furthermore, our instructors bring talent and diverse skills acquired over many decades of working in law enforcement and public safety.

Michael J. Brooks- President of Training

Michael J. Brooks (Retired FBI) founded Brooks Photographic Imaging, LLC in 2003.

Michael began his career as a photographer in 1985 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. The experience Michael gained in the Air Force was followed by transitioning into a position with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Special Photographic Unit of the Laboratory Division, Washington, D.C. in a position as a Scientific & Technical Photographer.

Educated in Speech Communications, and Fine Art Photography Michael draws his experience from having working on some of the more notorious investigations during his 20+ year career as a photographer with the U.S. federal government. Just a few of the cases in which Michael provided his photographic expertise and applied his skills include;

- Unabomber Investigation

- World Trade Center Bombing in 1993

- Bombing of the Alfred E. Murrah Building in Oklahoma City

- The Murder of Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ron Goldman (O.J. Simpson)

In the latter part of 1997 Michael was invited by the FBI Academy to lecture for the “New” FBI Agents training program. In March 1998 assumed the title of Training Instructor – Sr. Instructor of Scientific & Technical Photography in a full-time capacity at the FBI Academy until his retirement in July of 2007.

In all, Michael has earned a reputation of excellence after having trained over 14,000 law enforcement personnel from various U.S. national and international law enforcement agencies, to include;

- National & International Police Administrators attending the FBI National Academy

- Detectives & Patrol Officers

- Forensic Scientists

- Crime Scene Investigators & Technicians

Michael has also been a frequently invited lecturer at the International Association for Identification conference in all corners of the U.S, and Canada. In all, Michael has visited over 40 U.S. states and several countries in which he has trained, lectured, or performed case work.
